Peak District Bamford Edge Photography Workshop

Visit the stunning location of Bamford Edge in the Peak District which overlooks the iconic Ladybower Reservoir.

After meeting up at our pre-designated parking location we’ll venture up towards Bamford Edge where we’ll replenish with a drink and take in our surroundings. There are numerous photographic opportunities at this location and we’ll choose the best ones for the most rewarding photographs we can take. I’ll explain how I compose my images for balance, light and atmosphere.

After the session I will review your images in my post-processing software - Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, and email a video to you showing suggested editing techniques and advice for your photographs.

About the Workshop

What you’ll need

Camera, Spare Battery and SD Cards
Having a camera and lenses is self explanatory, but bringing spare batteries and SD cards is recommended.

Tripod
Although not mandatory, a tripod is recommended as landscape photography, especially for certain effects, can involve slow shutter speeds and careful composition.

Filters and Remote Shutter
Filters aren’t required but do please bring them along if you have them. Bring a remote shutter/cable release if you have one, though also not mandatory.

Beverages and a Packed Lunch/Snacks
It’s important to be hydrated and have the right level of energy so bringing enough food and drink is advised.
Days may be hot, cold or somewhere in between. Perhaps a hot flask for a cold day and plenty of water for a hot day etc.

Suitable outdoor clothing
The weather can change dramatically in the UK and is often cooler the higher you ascend so it’s a good idea to pack appropriately for the day.

Much of the terrain at landscape photography locations can be uneven so good sturdy walking boots are recommended.
